Investment Connection is guided and supported by two astonishing advisors who serve as strong backbones for our club.
Our advisors are proud UCSB alumni, instructors for the Strategic Investment Program (SIP), and Board members for the Dean's Investment Group (DIG) Advisory Board.
Mitchell Kauffman
Graduated from UCSB in 1977 with Business Economics and Political Science, Mr. Kauffman is a returning alumni instructor in the Economics and Religious Studies Departments. Additionally, Mr. Kauffman is also an instruction in the Strategic Investment Program and on the Dean’s Investment Group Advisory Board.
With MBA and CFP background, Mr. Kauffman was the Financial Advisor and Managing Director of his own independent firm, Kauffman Wealth Management Inc. for over 35 years prior returning to UCSB.
Fun Fact: Mr. Kauffman is an avid alpine skier
Rod Scherba
Mr. Scherba graduated from UCSB with Busines Economics in 1979. Currently, Mr. Scherba is on the Dean’s Investment Group Advisory Board and an instructor of the Strategic Investment Program.
Prior returning to UCSB, Mr. Scherba had 34 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate. Representing technology companies and landlords in the Silicon Valley such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Uber, and Stanford University, Mr. Scherba was one of the top broker/advisers in the area.
Fun Fact: Mr. Scherba plays guitar with his classic rock band
